We were assigned the task of designing a website for the newly established hair styling business 'Shambarber'. We meet up with Steve, the co-founder, to discuss the what he wanted to be implemented in to the website.
After listening to Steve we went to Boston Tea Party where we went over what he had said, discussed our thoughts and compiled a basic list of what the website needed to include. The key points that the website needed to show were the services that Steve and 'Shambarber' provide which were:
-Hair cuts
-Festival styling
-Beared Trimming
-Hair products
- Music events

In our next session in Web Design Studio, after having more time to evaluate what our client wanted we wrote down a more in depth list with our whole class involved. This was to make sure that we had all the information necessary.
Taking all the information on board I was confident I could further progress on to designing the layout.
Client Requirements
We were advised to research other hair stylists in the Bristol area who would be Shambarbers main competitors. Mack Daddy's seemed to be the only other hair stylist that I could find that are on a similar direction and vibe as Shambarber. Looking at their website it has a unique styling to it that in my opinion radiates underground, 'studenty' feel. However although their website may look quite stylish, I also think it feels quite rushed and not very accessible. The type font and placement of their deals is hard to read, looks rushed and doesn't fit in with the rest of the website.
